A Luglio screening gratuiti per il controllo della memoria promossi da Aou Sassari e Cnr
Perdita della memoria a breve termine, difficoltà di concentrazione, problemi nel ricordare ciò che è stato fatto due o tre giorni prima, dimenticare dove si sono lasciate le chiavi o scordare l’appuntamento con il medico.
Sono questi i primi sintomi del decadimento cognitivo che possono manifestarsi abbastanza presto e anche subito dopo i 50 anni. Un campanello d’allarme che di sicuro non va sottovalutato ma che si può prevenire.
La Clinica psichiatrica dell’Aou di Sassari in collaborazione con il Cnr (Centro nazionale di ricerca) ha promosso alcune giornate di screening gratuiti durante il mese di luglio.
Le persone con un’età superiore ai 50 anni che hanno incontrato qualche difficoltànel ricordare, o hanno problemi di concentrazione sul lavoro potranno quindi fare un controllo della memoria negli ambulatori della Clinica nel villaggio San Camillo.
«I primi sintomi di deterioramento cognitivo a volte emergono subito dopo i 50 anni e si manifestano talvolta con dei lievi cambiamenti nelle principali attività quotidiane e di cui la stessa persona si rende conto», afferma la professoressa Alessandra Nivoli, responsabile della Clinica psichiatrica dell’Aou di Sassari.
«E’ grazie alla stretta collaborazione con il Cnr- aggiunge la Nivoli – e al prezioso contributo di 2 neuropsicologhededicate a questa attività che possiamo offrire questo nuovo servizio».

Durante il convegno, che ha visto una grande partecipazione da parte degli specialisti otorino, i relatori si sono soffermati sulle valutazioni cliniche e strumentali quindi sulla patologia vestibolare.
Le vertigini di origine periferica possono essere causate da un problema al labirinto vestibolare e al nervo acustico.
Mentre le vertigini di origine centrale, invece, possono essere causate da patologie del sistema nervoso centrale.
E quelle di origine periferica sono le vertigini di competenza dell’otorino. Tra queste sono state ricordate la vertigine posizionale parossistica, la neurite vestibolare, la malattia di Menière, la vertigine fobica e quella associata a emicrania.
“È attraverso l’esame vestibolare che possiamo distinguere tra causa centrale e periferiche – aggiunge Bussu – ed è in questo ambito che si possono effettuare una serie di manovre che consentono allo specialista di individuare la sede della patologia e assegnare una terapia”.
L’esame vestibolare quindi rappresenta l’unico strumento utile per individuare la causa e la natura delle vertigini.
«Una corretta diagnosi – conclude Francesco Bussu – è presupposto fondamentale per un’adeguata gestione e per una terapia appropriata. Per molte delle condizioni patologiche a carico della porzione dell’orecchio interno, cioè il vestibolo che controlla l’equilibrio, esistono oggi delle terapie e delle manovre effettuabili contestualmente alla visita vestibolare».
Il convegno è stato presieduto, oltre che dal professor Bussu, anche dalla professoressa Anna Rita Fetoni, direttore dell’Audiologia dell’Università Federico II Napoli, mentre il responsabile scientifico è stato il dottor Andrea Melis dell’Aou Sassari.
